Comprehensive review between IPS vs AMOLED

Guide about IPS vs AMOLED

Lately, people have been asking a lot of about what does AMOLED mean or what does IPS mean?
The question rose from watching specs on different websites for different phones. Today, we would like to tell you all about IPS vs AMOLED

We are bringing comprehensive review about IPS vs AMOLED, there features, specifications and which one is the best. This is a complete guide about IPS vs AMOLED and you should know these two terms before buying a Smartphone.

IPS vs AMOLED

Before starting a comparison between IPS vs AMOLED we are giving summary view about these two terms.

The normal LCD panel was having a slow response time which meant less sales for all the phone. Apart from this the angle from all possible views was distorted as well. Hence, IPS started to flow in LCS panels but again this one has its pros and cons as well.

Before, the technology was OLED. Amoled is the upgrade version of this and introducing this or upgrading it in SmartPhones meant the best display ever. This technology does require any kind of backlight and is much thinner due to this reason alone.

No matter what angle you look from you get the same result and this is not available on your regular IPS screen. Another major factor why this particular technology is used in comparison to the other one is that much less battery is used in the display.

Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode – AMOLED

The word Amoled in actual is an abbreviation for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. I do apologize for the entire word being too technical and long.

But the history behind this simply is that the technology has compounds which are organic and they are inserted into an electric charge they produce light.

Since, no back light is needed the need to add extra weight and use more power reduces. But this does have some factors which concern us like the overall price for the phone gets way too expensive as this technology is not easy to manufacture.

Apart from that, watching these displays during the day means less visibility as no backlight is added here. Which in turn reduces the sharpness of the display and reduction of colour themes over time.

In-Plane switching – IPS

Now let’s have a look at IPS, which stands for In-Plane switching which is being used for all LCS based technology around us. This was added to all normal LCD’s because the visual technology for LCD was getting too limited.

For instance IPS requires a back light means heavier phone and more battery usage. But apart from this the other aspects of this technology win over because even though it adds weight to the phone and the design can turn into a problem it works way better at display then AMOLED.
